This solid steel stool is an exploration in fabrication and comfort. The appearance of loosely slapped together sticks of metal is contrasted by a remarkably comfortable saddle seat form. The chair is TIG welded from below, so no joinery is visible from the exterior, yet it can hold the weight of over 2 full sized adults. When circled, the view of the piece can be either very slim or rather bulky, questioning the user's assumptions of comfort, weight, strength, and how it was made.
